TRAINING PROGRAMME (CAPACITAR)
Capacity building and endogenous capacity building for the application of the Healthy Cities methodology advocated by WHO were, from the outset, an important strategic design and essential conditions for the implementation process and access to international funds.
Addressed to a small group of municipalities, in this initial phase, it took place in the city of Mindelo, from 20 to 22 November 2018, and as part of the Cape Verde Ocean Week Programme, the Capacity Building Workshop for Municipal Officers and Technicians, given by Dr. Suvajee Good, WHO Programme Manager Health Promotion and Determinants of Health.
The programme structure has focused on building the capacity of municipal actors in order to optimise proposals on priority themes and topics, from the identification of problems to be addressed, improving their framework, among other practical aspects associated with participation in international networks, as well as identifying preliminary ideas for resource mobilisation for local socio-economic development.
